Our workshops for schools and groups complementing the play

Through theater exercises, games and conversations, we prepare the students for the play. It’ll broadens the understanding of the different aesthetic and artistic forms of expression and creates tolerance as well as openness by the students. We’ll also support the access to an own aesthetic attitude. Moreover, the children and young people will practice connecting the content of the play to their own current world. The workshop is suitable for a class or course of any school type.
Duration: approx. 90 minutes
Location:  in the rehearsal rooms of the Junges Schauspielhaus or at your school.
Cost: 60 € plus tickets for the play

It is important to us to give children and young people the opportunity to discuss their impressions intensively, appreciatively and critically, directly after a play. Here, the opinions and perspectives of the children and young people are given space to develop themselves. Perceptions are discussed and questions can be asked. A guided tour of the theater is also possible before or after the play. An offer for a class or a course of any type of school. Excluded for this offer are visits to the family play.

Duration: approx. 90 minutes
Cost: total 60 €

Workshops for the season 2021/2022:

This season, we are adding a series of events to which we invite experts to join us. Due to the special conditions imposed by the pandemic, there will unfortunately be no opportunity to attend rehearsals until further notice, as these are subject to the highest safety standards.

On Friday, 08.10.2021 from 17:00 to 19:30, the choreographer and dancer Silke Z. will be with us and will give a workshop on dance mediation in the school. The artists of Ehrenfeldstudios work in an interdisciplinary, intergenerational and inclusive way and have a lot of experience with dance workshops in schools.

On Wednesday 17.11.2021 from 17:00 to 19:30, Miriam Michel will give a workshop about theatre and diversity. In 2006 she founded the performance company dorisdean. Since 2011, Miriam has specialised in the artistic exploration of the realities of physically disabled people and restructured the company dorisdean into a “mix-abled ensemble”. The group won the Petra Meurer Award in Dortmund in 2014. She also works in children’s and youth theatre and in project work with young people and children at various theatres. She has also worked for the Ruhrtriennale, the Salzburg Festival and TV production companies.

The other dates for the new year will follow soon.

The workshops take place in our rehearsal room, Humboldtstr. 40, in Bochum near the Musikforum. Participation is free of charge.

The invitations to the workshops will be sent out via our mail list. To become part of the teachers’ mafia, send us an e-mail at:
