GERMAN HORROR DAEMONIUM

GERMAN HORROR DAEMONIUM

The internet has become a place where labyrinthine structures of right-wing extremism spread reapidly. Old and new right-wingers network, recruit and mobilise each other there. Our societies has not yet found a successful strategy to do something about it: there is a lack of a common self-image, initiative and actionism.

German Horror Daemonium is a co-production with the Junges Ensemble Stuttgart, the Junges Schauspielhaus Bochum and with cobratheater.cobra. It takes place digitally in the two rooms of the Theaterrevier. The 10 audience members are guided through the labyrinthine stage set and at the same time through the ghost train of the “German Horror”.

This piece, also offered for school classes, runs on the open-source platform “Jitsi”, which enables interactions with the audience during the performance and has been programmed by the collective to allow writing with a chatbot. These interactions take place at the different stages of the production, which address topics such as conspiracy myths, Telegram, commemoration, hacking, fascist rhetoric and their anti-fascist counter-strategies.

Following the performance, a discussion with the audience is planned. This will open up a new space for exchange to deepen the questions raised and reflect together.

HOUSE OF THE DIGITAL ANTIFASCISTS
In order to counter the increasingly aggressive fascist tendencies in our society with determination and art, cobratheater.cobra, the Junge Ensemble Stuttgart and the Junges Schauspielhaus Bochum are calling for the House of The Digital Antifascists!
